Important... dealing with Copyright issues and copying our photographs

By viewing this site you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this agreement.

Some simple Q's and A's regarding who can do what with our photos...

Q: Who owns the rights to your photographs?
A: In general, the "author" or photographer does. In this case, we own the rights to all our photos unless granted elsewhere in writing. If you would like to read more about copyright law and photography, click here. Kodak has a very concise info page on copyright law.
Q: What if I would like extra prints of your photos?
A: Please see us about ordering more. We'll be sure you get more PROFESSIONAL quality prints at a fair price.
Q: Why should I pay your retail print prices when I can have duplicates made less expensively?
A: The short answer is, because it is against the law. We are serious about this and will actively pursue incidents of people who infringe upon those copyrights. Another reason not to do this is because you will never get the same quality from a copy of a photograph.
Q: If I want many copies of the same photo do I have to pay full retail print prices for all of them?
A: In most cases, probably not. If you are purchasing multiple copies of the same photograph, or large numbers of prints from the same gallery, we will make every effort to offer you our best possible multiple-print discount.

Our policy:

In most cases, we offer our event photography services for sporting and performance events without any upfront charges to the participants or the organization. It is an alternative way for these events to have professional photographers provide coverage, without the upfront photo fees previously associated with on-location professional photography.

We are confident that there will be enough high-quality photographs taken at an event that a number of families will find some shots that are exceptionally memorable to them and will want to purchase those prints from us. Because of the access we have at the events, the quality of the equipment we use, our expertise and the post-processing we offer on every print, these are quite often photos that the average spectator would find difficult to capture on their own. While the cost of our prints are greater than the pure cost of the printing process, they represent an average mark up of the studio's time, expertise and equipment investment that went into supplying this valuable service. With this in mind, our prints starts looking like an exceptional value!

Remember...

We are solely concentrating on photographing your event so you are able to relax and enjoy watching it without having to worry about taking the perfect picture! (see "Which hat to wear")

In view of these factors, we would ask that everyone would simply respect the value of these photographs taken by our studio. While it may appear to be a short-term advantage by having inexpensive copies made, you will be getting a substandard image and you'll be violating copyright law.

If you value the service enough to want the photo, please respect the effort and care we have made to bring that photo to you. Please respect our copyright and do not reproduce our photos. We will work with you to provide prints at a fair price.

Thank you for your understanding in advance...
